RPCI Announces Creation of New Endowment Fund

Regina...Regina Palliative Care Inc. (RPCI) has announced the establishment of the Good Mourning Fund - In Support of Palliative and Bereavement Care. "This fund will support the long term sustainability of both palliative and bereavement programs," said Executive Director of RPCI Jeff Christiansen. "This endowment fund is an important step in ensuring that the work we do will continue well into the future. It provides another option for people to consider as they contemplate giving a gift in support of individuals and families facing life limiting illness, death and the grief which follows."

RPCI is pleased to recognize a generous donation from the Hill Family, given in memory of their friend and colleague Mr. Edward Casey Steinson, as the first gift to this newly established endowment fund. In making the gift Paul Hill remarked, "Carol and I are honored to initiate the support of the Good Mourning Fund in memory of Casey. The Palliative and Bereavement Programs supported by this fund will make a profound difference for many who are experiencing difficult transitional moments in their lives."

At a small reception held to acknowledge the gift RPCI volunteer Board Member, Vice President of Governance and Nomination, Mr. Kevin Lang offered his thanks saying, "the generosity and leadership of the Hill family is deeply appreciated. Their contribution is a fitting tribute to Mr. Steinson who established a significant legacy in his dedication to family and community and through his service to Harvard Development."

The Good Mourning Fund will be established with the support of the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation who can offer advice regarding planned giving and estate planning options and will also lend their 39 year history of effective fund administration in support of RPCI's efforts. If people are interested in learning more about the fund or about the other ways in which they can contribute to the work of RPCI they can visit us online at www.rpci.org or contact Jeff Christiansen, Executive Director at 766-7401.
