Jeff Christian, Executive Director of RPCI and Susan Zwarych, Manager, Advertising and Community Relations for Conexus.

January 19, 2009 Regina - Regina Palliative Care Inc. (RPCI) today announced the opening of a new resource library at the Greystone Bereavement Centre. The lending library, which is available to everyone including professionals, volunteers, educators, and students, was made possible through a $104,000 donation from Conexus Credit Union.

The Conexus Resource Library's collection of books can assist children and adults as they journey through the grieving process associated with the death of a loved one. The donation from Conexus enables RPCI to develop the library space and to ensure the collection will grow.

"Our goal is to provide a comprehensive resource that is a publicly accessible lending library within the Greystone Bereavement Centre, said John Lee, Vice President of RPCI.  Thanks to the generosity of Conexus Credit Union, we are able to take the first step".

"At Conexus, we understand the impact loss and grief will have on lives and we want to help support people through these difficult times," says Darren Stoppler, Regional Vice President. "We are honoured to be partnering with Regina Palliative Care Inc. and the Greystone Bereavement Centre to create a resource library where individuals can learn how to cope with their loss." The Conexus Resource Library is a community initiative helping individuals understand the bereavement process and discover the bereavement programs and services available to them. "Conexus is passionate about giving back to the community, and we value organizations such as Regina Palliative Care Inc. and the Greystone Bereavement Centre who share in our passion," says Stoppler. We look forward to continuing our partnership and growing the bereavement resources that will help to make a difference in people's lives."

The opening of the Conexus Resource Library at the Greystone Bereavement Centre expands RPCI's ability to offer resources for education, information and support around grief to both urban and rural communities within the province.  The library space is designed to provide clients with a comfortable environment to review a variety of reference materials.
